"GLENN
Glenn, who had no professional experience before becoming a member of THE VILLAGE PEOPLE, learned about the auditions for the group
through an advertisement in a New York City showbusiness paper: 'The ad was very descriptive. They wanted a specific look and
specific characters. It said they wanted very good looking males, singer-dancer, with moustaches. Village types. I did the
audition and three hours later they called me and said I had the job. I was really surprised. They said they wanted disco songs
and I had never sung disco. Then they worked with me on SAN FRANCISCO. I sang it and did it all right. They said 'sing it lower,'
and by mistake I sang it two octaves lower. So now, I'm singing bass, which I've never sung in my lfie. I was always a tenor baritone.'"
