"FREDDIE MERCURY Freddie was born on September 5, 1946. After leaving school Freddie became a full time Kensington poseur, then attended Ealing College of Art in London where he obtained a diploma in art and design. Freddie's artistic imagination is reflected in the strong visual content of Queen's stage act and extends to a very active involvement in the album sleeves. The original crest was designed by Freddie. Due to his knowledge of art and love of beautiful things Freddie has managed to obtain one of the finest collections of Japanese antique woodcuts and pottery. Freddie's earliest musical influences were diverse: from Chopin to Hendrix, Beatles to Paganini. His resulting keyboard work has become a distinctive and integral part of Queen's performance both on stage and in the recording studio." |
