Keokuk's Son, of the tribe of Sac and Fox, was also known by the name of 'Wunagisa,' meaning 'he leaps up quickly from his lair.' He
had many of the admirable characteristics of his famous father, and was superior intellectually as well. Fond of debate, in argument,
he was always cool, deliberate, and clear-headed, more than a match for any government official. He was acknowledged to be the
purest speaker of the Saok dialect, and his own people never tired of listening to his eloquence. Late in life he embraced
Christianity and was baptized a Baptist. He never ceased, however, to cherish a loving regard for his old-time life and its fond
associations. His death, near Horton, Kansas, in 1903, was regarded as a tribal calamity.
