Crow's Breast

Crow's Breast was a leader of the Gros Ventres tribe. About 1800 of these people lived south of the Saskatchewan, and later became neighbors and allies of the Blackfeet. Among the Gros Ventres there were many bands. In winter they broke into very small groups; in summer the clans joined and camped together in a large camp circle. These Indians put great faith in dreams. If a man dreamed he saw a warrior wearing the skin of a certain animal and fighting victoriously, he would thereafter wear the skin of that animal.
