The Platters |

| The Platters began their amazing recording career with a smash hit, "Only You." They followed up this success quickly with "The Great Pretender." Both discs sold in the millions, were tops in the nation and stayed there for months. In 1955, the Platters were the 'Most Outstanding Vocal Group,' and walked off with Billboard Magazine honors. The quintet also played an important part in a rhythm and blues movie. |
