| Barbara was born in Hollywood where her mother was a silent movie actress. In high school, she wanted a dramatic career but she was stricken with polio. The doctors thought she would never walk again - but they didn't figure on Barbara's determination. When she was on her feet again, she took singing jobs and began to get roles on TV shows. She was spotted in a "Death Valley Days" show by an MGM scout. |
