| While in High School, Debbie entered and won the "Miss Burbank Contest" in California and her imitation of Betty Hutton resulted in a movie contract. When she was picked to appear in "Singing in the Rain," she learned dancing and was a big hit. In 1948, Debbie met Eddie Fisher and after a cross-country courtship they were married. Debbie's record of "Tammy" made her a top recording star overnight. |
