| Chris Conner is one of the first ladies of jazz, with sensitive renditions of blues songs and the ability to belt out swingy numbers. Starting with a dance band at the University of Missouri, Chris journeyed to New York and won the vocalist's job with Claude Thornhill's band. She later sang with Jerry Wald's and Stan Kenton's Orchestras. As a single performer, Chris has made an enviable reputation. |
