Lee's Army Attacks In Full Force
'The Southern Army lashed into the Northern lines early today, as General Hill's Rebels came storming into Gettysburg. The Confederate
Army had the upper hand over the Northern soldiers and drove them to cover. Throughout the day the shooting and fighting continued,
man after man falling on the battlefield. As evening came, the Union pulled together their badly battered forces and tried to
prepare for the following day's fight. Casualties were very high for the North. General Lee hopes for a swift victory in tomorrow's
battle when the North's General Meade will be in combat with an especially thin defensive line. A Southern victory at Gettysburg
would be a serious blow to the Federal government.'
